Pledge for a Hunger Free India on World Food Day

16th October 2015 is World Food Day and is celebrated every year in honor of the date of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945, and is celebrated widely by other organisations concerned with food security, including the World Food Programme and the International Fund for Agricultural Development.

In the 21st century, it is unacceptable that any man, woman or child goes hungry. Today we rededicate ourselves and commit to eradicate hunger in India.

This year’s theme on World Food Day is “Social Protection and Agriculture: breaking the cycle of rural poverty.” Social protection consists of programs designed to support the poor and vulnerable, which is at the core of Action Against Hunger’s work. We run programs to detect malnourished children, provide treatment, provide tools and education for women and children to prevent malnutrition, give support to farmers on livelihood and food security and implement many other programs that help families in need.

We want you to be part of the movement and act against hunger.

We urge you to join our mission to fight against Hunger. Here is what you can do from your side:

  •   Make a life- saving donation.
  • Support us by running the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2016.
  • Talk about us and our work on Facebook.
  • Host fund raising parties during Diwali, upcoming festivals.
  • Dedicate a page for us on your website.
  • Volunteer with us and help us in our marketing programs
No act is too small as long as we are bringing an awareness to this critical issue and continue to build a world without hunger.
