LOCATION: Dharni, Amravati, Maharashtra
TRAVEL: 40-45%
1- Situational Analysis
Activities:
- Good knowledge of conducting FSL assessments
- Develop training packages and tools for implementation of assessments
- Oversee translation of training packages in local language as and when needed
- Undertake trainings of the assessment team in local language as and when needed
- Oversee implementation of the assessment, undertake analysis and report writing
- Conduct market assessment and shortlist vendors for procurement
- Collect and analyse information on food security and on the populations’ living conditions in order to develop a detailed seasonal calendar
- Identify the needs of the most vulnerable populations and map HHs involved in FSL activities
- Participate actively in the development of a food security strategy based on the findings of the assessment
- Act as a link with the food security actors and keep them informed of the outcome of the assessment
2- Implementation of Intervention
Activities:
- Set-up the intervention, taking into account the logical framework of the program, the budget and the logistical and administrative processes of FHF and AAH
- Engage in the planning of needs and resources with the Logistic and Finance Departments
- Implement agriculture related interventions (establish home-gardens with higher nutrition valuable crops)
- Support in procurement of nutrition garden material
- Implement livestock related interventions to support household’s diet diversity and income generation
- Identification vulnerable households for distribution of goat vouchers and for kitchen garden implementation
- Develop training packages and conduct trainings with beneficiaries and stakeholders/extension workers on cultivation, sustainability of home gardens, food processing preservation, livestock disease prevention and management, animal feed practices, market linkages/marketing, herd management, feeding, housing and healthcare, livestock business and cash book management
- Organize and supervise the implementation of identified activities in coordination with other departments like nutrition, health and WASH
- Promote peer-to-peer learning between the beneficiaries; support development of farmer schools as and when needed
- Define implementation and monitoring modalities
- Support research by reviewing literature available related to identified research question
- Conduct community mobilization activities
- Develop and or review IEC/BCC material developed for field level interventions
- Try and link the existing program and benefeciaries with FSL entitlements and schemes listed by GoI like PDS, MNREGA, etc and increase uptake of the same
3- Team Management
Activities:
- Recruit and train team members
- Manage, plan and coordinate with team members
- Identify the training needs
- Carry out appraisals/PMS of the team members
4- Networking and Liasioning
Activities:
- Identify and establish linkages with the other actors in working in project area (NGOs/Govt)
- Ensure establishment of a good understanding of the program within the community
- Ensure establishment of linkages and meetings with the community leaders and different group existing in the working area
- Share project updates with district authorities on a quarterly basis
- Represent the organization and work in Dharni in meetings, conferences and workshops across India and abroad as and when needed
5- Monitoring and Evaluation
Activities:
- Compile reports for FSL in collaboration with other sector heads
- Document change stories/case-studies/success stories
- Prepare monthly APR both quantitative and qualitative
- Update beneficiary database and procurement needs on monthly basis
- Provide quarterly project reports to HoD as per donor needs defined
- Evaluate the relevance and appropriateness of the intervention in view of the evolution of the context and needs
6- Proposal Writing
Activities:
- Assist drafting of proposals on Food security and livelihood for submission to funding bodies as and when need identified
- Support in development of budgets and GANTT charts and MEAL plan
- Support in development of LFAs
